This program provides quality control reference samples to over 1,366 occupational health and environmental laboratories in 12 countries. PAT's objectives include evaluating analytical abilities of participating laboratories, and improving the quality of industrial hygiene data through improved analytical performance. Laboratories are statistically evaluated on each round, and then rated for proficiency according to certain criteria from the last four rounds of testing.
